Our Team
Sarah Schneider, MA, LPC, CMHIMP
I’m so glad you are here!
My work centers around adults of all ages and children as young as five years old looking to heal from depression, anxiety, and other mood changes that can happen throughout life. I have over ten years of experience providing evidence-based, individualized services to children, adolescents, and adults. My passion has always been helping others; the longer I am in the field, the more this passion flourishes. I enjoy seeing my clients’ transformation and healing!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which means I help you find ways out of suffering or confusion and into wellness. I specialize in integrative psychotherapy, drawing on scientifically proven methods from psychology, neuroscience, and integrative medicine to foster physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. In our sessions, I use empathy, compassion, and insight in addition to my education and training to guide your healing.
My style of working with people is very down-to-earth, holistic, and gentle. I have a very warm and uplifting spirit that I use to encourage you through your life journey. I create an environment where you are free to find the truth that is within you. We’ll begin where you are and feel most comfortable.
I’ll guide you toward self-actualization by making step-by-step changes to your beliefs, thoughts, and self-care behaviors at a comfortable and sustainable pace.
Ashley Birkholz, MSW, LCSW, CSAC
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor with 12 years of post-graduate experience working with a variety of clients. I feel I am compassionate and relatable to my clients. I approach treatment from a biopsychosocial perspective and look at the individual.
I believe that each client is an individual and should be treated as such. I also take pride in providing education to my clients to give them options to make an educated decision about their unique situation.
I am trained to utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to treat trauma, as well as clients that are feeling “stuck.” EMDR is a highly effective therapy for trauma and mental health treatment.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, an AODA certification from Moraine Park Technical College, and a master’s degree in social work, also from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I spent three years working with clients in a healthcare setting and worked at Ozaukee County Human Services as a Crisis Case Manager, as well as individual therapy in the private sector prior to joining Schneider Counseling.
I have a strong interest in the First Responder/Veteran population. I also specialize in treating grief, stress, trauma, life transitions, anxiety and depression.
I specialize in treating clients age 21 and up.

Beginning to look for care is a brave first step! While finding care can be difficult and overwhelming, I’m here to ease that process and create a space where you can share your feelings safely and authentically. You may be feeling stuck in the day to day, overwhelmed by life transitions, or struggling with relationships. No matter what you’re facing, I believe it’s important to build a genuine connection so we can navigate your healing journey together. By working side by side, we’ll tailor a space to your needs and goals, helping you move forward with clarity and balance.
I cherish creating a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. My approach is personalized using methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy for thought management, dialectical behavior therapy for emotional regulation, person centered therapy to build connection, and interpersonal process theory to explore how relationships impact your well-being.
Beginning to look for care is a brave first step. While finding care can feel overwhelming, I’m here to help ease that process. I aim to help you feel safe and supported on your healing journey, guiding you toward creating stability. I’m grateful you’re choosing to seek guidance and I’d be honored to support you.
My goal is for you to feel safe on your healing journey and confident as you grow, creating and maintaining balance along the way.
Danielle Mae Dillenburg, MS, LPC-IT
I hope you are so proud of yourself! Life can be overwhelming, asking for help isn’t easy, and starting the therapy process can feel daunting, and yet here you are doing it. I hope to welcome you to a safe space where you can come as you are, unload everything without shame, and begin the healing process that you so rightfully deserve.
You are not defined by your diagnoses, struggles, or past; there is so much more that makes you, you. That’s why I’m passionate about whole-person care. I’m working with all of you not just pieces and I value getting to know your true self. My approach to therapy is nonjudgmental, empathic, authentic, and collaborative. I want you to feel comfortable showing up as your true self just as I will.
When working together I want you to know, we are a team, you are the expert of your life and I highly value your feedback. My entire goal is to help you reach yours, so as a team we will decide how our sessions run and I will personalize treatment based on your goals and feedback. Our sessions will always be guided through a cultural and trauma-informed lens and I can pull from a variety of theories and techniques such as person-centered, strength-based approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.
I’m so very happy you’re here and I’m excited to join you in your journey and empowering you along the way.

If you’ve found yourself here, you may be feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or just looking for a space to breathe.
Therapy can be a place where you slow down, reflect, and begin to feel more like yourself again. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Wherever you are right now, I’m here to meet you there, and we’ll take things one gentle step at a time.
Together, we’ll take time to understand your experiences, honor your feelings, and gently work through whatever challenges you bring. There’s no timeline or pressure here; we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is grounded in empathy and collaboration. I use a variety of therapeutic tools depending on your needs, but I primarily draw from Person-Centered Therapy to build a warm, trusting relationship. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you explore thought patterns, process emotions, and build strategies that support real-life change.
I am so honored to support you during these next steps. Every step moving forward is worth celebrating, and I will be here cheering you on!
I am currently finishing up my first year within the counseling program at the University of Milwaukee. I am so proud of you for taking this step–I am here to support you in whatever comes next.
Mack
Mack is a 2-year-old black lab mix. Mack was a rescue from the streets of Alabama and was brought to Wisconsin when he was just 12 weeks old. Mack was rescued by therapist Ashley and her fiancé, when he was 15 weeks old, and went to live in his forever home. Mack is currently in the process of becoming a therapy dog, and you may get to see him around the office!
Mack absolutely loves meeting new people and enjoys being with others. When Mack isn’t at work he loves to go on walks, chew on sticks, and pull the stuffing out of every toy. He really loves to swim when the weather is nice! Mack enjoys doggie day camp and playing with his canine friends as well. Mack is hopeful to bring joy and comfort to all his friends at the office. Mack is the sweetest boy!
